Commune takes flight with Singapore Airlines in its first-ever collaboration, Business News

SINGAPORE, July 20, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Upcycling takes off in literal form with Commune’s latest release ‘The Continental’ – a capsule collection created in collaboration with Singapore Airlines (SIA) as part of their latest initiative, The Upcycling Project.

“The Continental” aims to bring SIA’s archetypal aviation aesthetic to the kitchens of your home – with reimagined versions of retired SIA airplane cabin windows and carts.

With sustainability at the heart of the initiative, the recycling approach retains the essence of iconic airline products, refreshed with new features to add timeless appeal and historic value to anywhere could bring “The Continental” products.

The “The Continental” range includes three exquisite products.

The continental bar cart (The little & The large)

50 original Singapore Airlines exclusive in-flight galley carts, which previously served hot meals and beverages in-flight, have been given a new lease of life, each featuring a sleek black powder coated finish, contrasting with the classic walnut veneer storage of Commune style shelving and a premium leather utility pouch. Produced in a limited series, each trolley features a limited edition label with its registration number (eg No. 1/50) – adding a touch of elegance while retaining its original industrial quality mechanism.

The Continental bar cart is available in two sizes – The little and The large

The Jack of the Continental Wall

The Wall Valet incorporates the original window frame recycled from SIA’s retired aircraft fuselage, with a leveled top panel resembling the shape of the aircraft’s wings. It also includes a functional utility pouch covered in premium beige leather, a magnetic key clasp and a letter organizer.

The Wall Valet aims to evoke the feeling of serenity when looking out of airplane windows and into the open sky.
